The following are some of our favorite family recipes. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we do. Cooking is one of our passions and we especially like using the fresh ingredients from our garden.
This is a great salsa recipe that also makes a great summer salad too.
A classic Italian appetizer. It is especially good with fresh herbs from the garden.
This recipe was shared with us from a Bed & Breakfast in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. It has become a family favorite and is always a part of our holiday breakfasts. It is a different take on traditional oatmeal.
Creme fraiche is absolutely delicious on fresh strawberries. The sour cream that is added to a traditional whip cream stabilizes the cream so that it doesn't separate and get watery. This recipe can be made in smaller or larger quantities as needed. A great topping for strawberry pie!
One of our favorite salad dressings to use in the summer time. It is light and refreshing.
A great summer salad that we never seem to get tired of. For those that are diabetic, I have substituted artificial sweetner for the sugar in this with great results. We give this salad a different twist on occasion by adding Craisins and nuts to it.
This recipe is one of my favorites that my Grandmother Bryan made for me in my childhood. My children now enjoy it just as much and it is requested for dinner often.
These meatballs are also great as an appetizer and can be kept warm in a crock pot for a potluck gathering. The barbeque sauce and peach preserves used in the sauce make a great contrast to the Cajun spice in the meatballs.
Another summer favorite of ours when we use the grill often. They are great served on top of a salad for a simple, no fuss meal.
